The XDJ-RR lets you choose how you'd like to perform. You can plug in your USB drive and play tracks directly, use Link Export mode to access your entire rekordbox library via your laptop without needing to export your music to a USB drive, or, if you'd prefer, you can connect your PC/Mac with a single USB cable to harness Performance mode in rekordbox dj. It's all up to you.

Mike was extremely pleasant to deal with and cordial. Went out of his way to help me with a small and finickity order buying some chroma caps, which indicate to me that the Mix Foundation don't see customers as ATMs but as people. Also they care about what the customer needs and are prepared to put time into finding out, so I would trust them to give honest advice to help people fulfill their djing needs. Value for money is right up there. If you want the fuss-free convenience of a single piece of kit, put this on your list. The dynamics are right in the pocket and not overbearing or woolly at all. Runs my old Tannoy Mercurys beautifully, and the REL sub is almost superfluous.
