Powered 15" Subwoofer PA speaker suitable for general music applications.

Product Features

• Stereo line input and speaker level input available for the powered subwoofer
• Peak limiter that protects the amplifier and speaker from clipping.
• 0°, 180°Phase switch
• Built-in 600 watt (peak), 400 watt (continuous) amplifier
• Thermal, DC fault and short circuit protection
• Power on and system AGC protect LED indicators
• Integral, preset limiter prevents clipping and distortion.

Subwoofers
The EVP-X15/18PB is a 15/18 inch direct radiating powered subwoofer. A
built in 600 watt (peak) amplifier accepts stereo or mono line level
inputs. These line level inputs are summed before being sent to the
internal amplifier allowing the subwoofer to operate in stereo systems
using a single subwoofer. The subwoofer features a pair of integral
100Hz, 24dB/Octave crossovers to send a high pass, balanced, line level
stereo signal to a pair of powered satellite full range speakers or an
external amplifier for passive satellite speakers. A speaker level
1/4" jack is also provided for use in applications, such as those
employing powered mixers, in which it is more practical to bring a full
range speaker level signal to the subwoofer.

5 Band Graphic Equaliser
The EVP-X12PM and the EVP-X15PM features a 5 band graphic equaliser
accessible on the side of the unit. This allows the user more control
over feedback and unwanted noise when monitoring.

Speaker Out
The EVP-X12PM and the EVP-X15PM also have the added benefit of a
‘Speaker Out’ output which allows the user to add on or to ‘daisy chain
a passive EVP-X12M/15M into the system directly from the EVP-X15M.

Power amplifier functions
The power amplifier section of the EVP-XP series uses Class A/B
topology and is designed to integrate seamlessly, giving the optimum
smooth performance accross the range. The EVP-X1212PM contains a 300W
continuous/400W peak amplifier whilst the other models in the range
contain the higher rated 400W continuous/600W peak amplifier.
Dynamic/AGC protection circuitry provides extreme protection at both
the driver and the amplifier stage so the EVP-XP can be played at
maximum levels over long periods without fear of system failure. The
Green LED on the front of the EVP-XP illuminates when the AGC is
activated, similar to the orange LED on the front of the amplifier.

System Protection
The ProTech protection system in the EVP-XP progressively converts
excess power into heat and triggers a reduction in the power to the HF
Driver. When the overload condition is removed, the system returns
seamlessly to normal operation.

Sophisticated Crossover Design
Enhancing smooth frequency and power response, the EVP-XP features a
sophisticated crossover design that uses high voltage capacitors and
inductors with massive cores and heavy gauge wire, enabling the
crossover network to handle high power without saturating.

Built to last
The EVP-XP cabinets are constructed using high grade, low resonance
composite wood and covered with a road tough industrial carpet. A
heavy duty full length steel grille protects the internal components
from damage.

Versatility
Full range cabinets in the EVP-XP Series are trapezoidal in shape and
therefore easily arrayable. They also feature an alloy stand adaptor
in the base of the unit for mounting on tripods or for use in
combination with one of the complimentary sub bass systems.

Ease of use
The EVP-XP have the added benefit of signal present and HF protect LED
indicators on the front of the loudspeaker - green to show signal
present and orange to show the HF bulb is active, making it easy to
monitor the system levels.

EVP-X Series
Built around the development of an exceptional new Elliptical Waveguide
Horn coupled with a ferrofluid cooled 44mm titanium compression driver,
the high frequency performance and system reliability of this series is
unprecedented in this product class. High output capability and low
distortion with excellent high frequency extension characterize these
new drivers. When comparing sound quality and specifications to the
competition Wharfedale Pro built and designed components, the real
compression driver and our sophisticated crossover can immediately be
heard and appreciated.
In comparison to a conventional rectangular horn, the Elliptical Wave
Guide offers superior control over HF coverage, with reduced
distortion, greater output and smoother frequency response.
The elliptical shape means that there are no corners or parallel
surfaces to distort, diffract or reflect the sound – therefore the
output is smoother, cleaner and more consistent. Again, due to the
elliptical shape, mid to high frequencies are diffused more
efficiently. When coupled with a true compression driver, the result is
brilliant, natural HF reproduction.
