The Vestax PMC-05PROSL is a sampling version of the PMC-05PRO III and the newest version of Vestax’s famous PMC-05Pro. It’s hard to improve perfection but Vestax has found a way to take the #1 selling industry standard performance mixer and take it to the next level.

The new Vestax PMC-05PROSL fuses the great battle mixer formats of the PMC-05PRO series with digital delay and sampler technology to create an all in one performance and battle-ready mixer that is ideal for both beginners and professional DJ's. The Vestax PMC-05PRO SL is laid out in a traditional 2 channel battle style, which is most appropriate for hip-hop, scratch, drum & bass and other similar performance DJ's. The built-in effects are located to the left side of the mixer and are easy to get to, and easy to control. The sampler can be controlled with either a tap button or a short vertical fader. DIGITAL DELAY
A sound with a delay effect remains even after turning off the cross fader, which makes it able to create a delay effect to the scratch sound only. It is also able to set delay times with the TAP button.

SAMPLER
A Maximum 11.9 seconds of sampling is possible when using OVER DUB. Besides pushing the play button to start the sampled sound, it is able to start with a groove by raising the fader. Over dubs are infinite while loop playing a back track that has been sampled once and can as well delete the OVER DUB. What this means is that not only can you sample anything you want, but you can sample an unlimited number of samples OVER the original, and should you not like them, you can delete all of them, but KEEP the original sample! That makes this sampler even more complex than the sampler on the Pioneer DJM-600 house mixer. The delay or sampler can also be assigned to the MIC channel.

FOOT SWITCH
A convenient option of using a FOOT SWITCH (sold separately) to start sampling when using both hands in play is possible. For a scratch performance the ON/OFF via the foot switch is a feature used by many. (Separately sold FOOT SWITCH: TASCOM RC-32P)

LEVEL/PLAY FADER with Curve Control Switch The Level fader acts and works as a Play Switch during sampling modes and gives an instant fader start feature when sampling data.

VESTAX PMC-05 PRO SL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. I HAVE A RECORD THAT HAS POOR MID RANGE FREQUENCIES IN THE RECORDING, BUT THE PMC-05PRO SL ONLY HAS BASS AND TREBLE CONTROLS.WHAT SHOULD I DO?

To boost the mid range, cut the bass and treble controls slightly and boost the gain control to the optimum level.

2. I’VE HEARD THAT OTHER BRANDS USE THE SAME CROSSFADER AS THE PMC 05 PRO SL. IS THIS TRUE?

No, the some Brands are using a similar ALPS fader to the older version crossfader from the Vestax PRO series. The VESTAX PCV fader has now been upgraded exclusively within the Vestax range to the VESTAX CF-PCV or VESTAX IF-05 PCV which is considerably smoother and has a tested lifespan of more than one million cycles. This new fader has been judged by professional turntablists as the new industry standard.

3. CAN I USE EFFECTS AND SAMPLING AT THE SAME TIME?

The internal Sampling unit uses the same processor as the Effect unit. So you can eiter use the Sampling unit or the Effects.

4. CAN I ALSO USE THE EFFECT UNIT OR SAMPLING ON THE MIC INPUT?

Yes, the Mic input has a seperate switch to route the Mic signal to the Effect/sampling section.

5. I’VE HEARD THAT A LIMITED EDITION PMC-05PRO WAS AVAILABLE WITH ADDITIONAL FEATURES DESIGNED BY Q-BERT. IS THIS STILL AVAILABLE?

The Q-Bert edition had the crossfader monitor fader to the top left side of the input faders rather than the lower right hand section. It also had pan faders rather than pan pots for each channel, and a short fader for master output volume instead of a pot. It also had a �hamster� switch for reversing the crossfader direction, located at the front of the mixer. This mixer is not available anymore, but many of it’s design features can be seen in current �PRO� series mixers. The PMC 07PRO and PMC 07PRO-ISP have the pan faders, master output fader and crossfader reverse switch as standard. 6. CAN I CHANGE THE INPUT FADER CURVE ON MY MIXER?

Yes, underneath the top panel you can access all three faders for adjustment and replacement. The two input faders have a three pole switch for adjusting the curve of the fader from a �sharp cut-in� to a �smooth mix� and a �top of the fader cut-in�. This is to allow DJ’s to set the fader to particular styles of mixing.
