The new Vestax VCI-300MKII takes the main concept of the VCI-300 and brings it to the next level, making it a lightweight, compact digital DJ console with a smidgeon of analog control. The Vestax development team used VCI-300 customer feedback to facilitate which controller features from the VCI-300 could stay, and which ones could definitely be improved.

Some of the VCI-300MKII's main features and improvements include high-resolution control, a built-in audio interface, clear level indication, file control, an emergency thru switch, adjustable jog wheel torque, and fader curve control.

The VCI-300MKII can control more than 90 parameters and functions of the included Serato software with high-resolution MIDI signals sent via USB. The pulse resolution of the jog wheel and pitch control fader is four times higher than the VCI-100, notes Vestax, and provides precise control of each function. Likewise, the pitch control fader also shares the same fader parts of the input fader.

The controller's built-in audio interface carries an Audio Codec IC with "superb audio characteristic" generated by a delta-sigma modulation 24-bit stereo D/A-A/D converter. Audio connections include one stereo input, one mic input, and two stereo outputs (master L/R and monitor L/R). To monitor sound levels, check the 12-level LED L/R indicator, set in the center of the top panel. And to select and control audio files, use the Crates / Files / Browse key and cursor switch to flip through files in the software library.

In addition to the cursor switch, the new DJ console boasts a rear-panel Emergency Thru Switch, which allows you to use the VCI-300MKII with the provided Serato Itch software or without the computer connected if you simply want to play music from your external CD or MP3 player. Itch software reads music from either your iTunes library or the Serato library you use for Scratch Live. The VCI-300MKII is the perfect device for recreational or professional DJs, according to Vestax.

DJs who asked for adjustable jog wheel torque got what they wanted with the VCI-300MKII, which lets you customize the torque of each jog wheel to prevent them from moving from low frequency feedback and altering the pitch when using the controller in clubs and similar environments. You can also adjust the fader curve of each fader to your preferred characteristics for long mixes, scratching, and any other style.

HIGH RESOLUTION CONTROL

Audio files in the software library can be easily selected and controlled with the CRATES / FILES / BROWSE key and the cursor switch inherited from the VCM-100.

The Emergency Thru Switch located on the rear panel is a countermeasure where you can use the VCI-300MKII with the provided ITCH software or without the computer connected if you simply want to play music from your external CD or MP3 player. The ITCH software reads music from your iTunes library or the Serato library you use for Scratch LIVE, making it the perfect device for recreational or professional DJ's.

ADJUSTABLE JOG WHEEL TORQUE
The torque of each JOG wheel can be adjusted to prevent them from moving from low frequency feedback and altering the pitch when using the VCI-300 in such places like clubs.

FADER CURVE CONTROL
The fader curve of each fader can be adjusted to the preferred characteristics for long mixes, scratching and any other style.

SERATO ITCH DJ SOFTWARE

Important Note: The optional power supply, DC-7 (new) must be used in order to get the boost on the headphones and Master output. Without the power supply the MKII will perform just like the original VCI-300. Also, using the DC-7 on the original VCI-300 will do nothing.
